So, I'm addicted to productivity.
Acceptance is the first step towards recovery.
I try to fill my life with clever hacks and bleeding edge tools to... what? It's not like I'm pressed for time. If anything, these productivity hacks are (ostensibly) only giving me more time to search for more productivity hacks. Ack!
This actually plays out in draining more time. It ends up being a vacuum of fun. What may buy me a few extra minutes of my day will still take awhile to break even with all the time I've sunk into searching for it, then learning how to implement and use it.
I could instead devote this time to picking up my guitar, learning graphic design, another language, or mad culinary skills. If I abandon my ridiculous search to hacks, and invest that time elsewhere, who knows, I could master something crazy cool.
So today, I eschew my computer browsing (without intent), throw off my productivity shackles and forsake "geeking out" for the sake of simplicity.
